PRICING AND PAYMENT POLICIES

Initial consultations are free.

For services that are charged by the suite-hour, the minimum charge is one suite hour.  Once above the minimum, services are charged in half-hour segments, rounded  up.

For services that are charged by the run time of the project, the minimum charge is one minute.  Above that, charges are calculated by the minute, rounded up.

All pricing is subject to some changes on a case by case basis.

Before starting a project, I will  send an estimation.  The final charges are subject to change based on the actual measured hourly work.

The estimated charges are due before I start working on the project, even if the final invoice may eventually differ.  The initial charge will fully count towards the balance of the final invoice.

Once work has finished, and the final invoice has been sent, I will not release any materials until payment has been received.  However, I am happy to work around this if a serious deadline is involved or if working with a repeat customer.

Payment may be in the form of cash, check, any major credit or debit card, or Pay-Pal. (PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD ) coming soon.

Rushed services (granting high priority to your project) will be subject to additional fees and policies.

GENERAL POLICIES

Students must be enrolled at a University, but does not need to be a film student to take advantage of the student discount.  Students must scan and email proof of enrollment in the form of a student ID.

I will never censor or intentionally destroy content.

By sending media to me, I assume you have at least one backup still in your possession.  I am not responsible for any data loss.

Work will generally be completed on a first come, first serve basis, but the priorities of work will ultimately be subjected to my own judgement based on workload.

PRACTICES

I generally use Premiere Pro for editing, and Speed Grade for grading.

All services may be supervised if desired.  Monitoring for these services will be on a HD TV.

ProRes HQ files are my preferred inputs and outputs, but I can work with just about anything.

Delivery hard methods may range from internet delivery (I can provide a shared Google Drive folder if needed) to hard drive.  I prefer EXFAT formatted, USB 3.0 hard drives, but other formats will work as well.

If I am grading a film that is in picture lock, but did not edit and will not be mastering, grading will be done to each clip as it appears in the timeline.  The necessary media files and an XML (preferably a Final Cut XML, which can be exported from non-FCP programs such as Premiere) of the timeline is required for this.  Output will be a new XML and the new files.  To use the new files, one must import the XML as a sequence/project, and relink the files to the new ones.

If I am grading a film not in picture lock, but am not editing and/or mastering, grading will be done only for the clips that appear in the timeline, but will be applied to the entire take, instead of the segment that appears in the edit.  The necessary media files and an XML (preferably a Final Cut XML, which is possible to be exported from non-FCP programs such as Premiere) of the timeline is required for this.  Output will be a new XML and the new files.  To use the new files, one must import the XML into your editing software as a sequence/project, and relink the files to the new ones.  One may also simply relink the clips in the original edit to the new files.

All work is completed with professional guide lines.
